Back in the day, the Backstreet Boys’ natural habitat was MTV’s Total Request Live, on which they appeared countless times. On Thursday, the group returned to TRL and surprised employees of MTV and parent company Viacom with an elevator serenade.
Thursday morning’s edition of TRL aired the segment, which showed MTV and Viacom employees — mostly young women — getting onto an elevator with Backstreet’s Brian Littrell. As the elevator stops on more floors, the other group members get in, until all five are there, along with some very surprised employees.
Then, the Boys proceed to get the employees to join them in a singalong to “I Want It That Way,” “Everybody (Backstreet’s Back)” and “As Long as You Love Me.” Nick Carter seems to be surprised when the employees know that last track.
