ABC/Craig SjodinFollowing Nick Carter‘s bar brawl arrest earlier this year, TMZ reports prosecutors have agreed to drop the battery charge against the singer if he completes community service.

The Backstreet Boy reportedly must complete 25 hours of community service in the next six months in order to get the charge wiped from his record. He was arrested outside a bar in the Florida Keys for fighting with a bouncer back in January.

Even though Nick appeared to be drunk at the time of his arrest, TMZ says prosecutors won’t be banning him from drinking booze during that six month period. They do, however, advise him not to drink “to excess.”

Nick is still facing a civil lawsuit from the bouncer.
