Capitol/UMeNeil Diamond may have announced his retirement from the road, but fans can still enjoy him in concert this summer in the comfort of their own homes.

August 17 sees the release of Hot August Night III, a live concert package that documents Diamond’s August 2012 concert at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles. The show marked the 40th anniversary of his celebrated Hot August Night live album, which was recorded at the same venue in 1972.

Hot August Night III will be released in a variety of configurations, including a double-CD collection, and two-CD/DVD and two-CD/Blu-ray sets. Digital and download options are also available.

The concert documented for the new package runs more than two hours and features 33 songs, while the DVD and Blu-ray also include behind-the-scenes footage.

The title Hot August Night comes from a lyric in Diamond’s song “Brother Love’s Travelling Salvation Show.” The original album was recorded during Diamond’s 1972 10-night stand at the Greek. In 1987, Diamond released a sequel live album, Hot August Night II.

Among the hits featured on Hot August Nights III: “I’m a Believer,” “Hello Again,” “Forever in Blue Jeans,” “America,” “Love on the Rocks, “Cracklin’ Rosie,” “You Don’t Bring Me Flowers” and, of course, “Sweet Caroline.”
