Machado CicalaSo far this year, Cher has starred in a hit movie and scored a top three album. Tonight, she conquers the Great White Way, as the autobiographical musical The Cher Show starts previews at Broadway’s Neil Simon Theatre.

The musical features three different actresses playing Cher at different points in her career: “the kid first starting out, the glam pop star and the icon,” as the producers put it. It also features 35 smash hits, costumes designed by the legendary Bob Mackie, and most importantly, Cher’s stamp of approval.

While the diva doesn’t appear in The Cher Show, she worked closely with the writer to share details of her life story and was involved in the development of the project.

For each performance of The Cher Show, there will be a limited quantity of $30 tickets available via digital lottery. It opens at 8 a.m. Thursday for tickets to tonight’s performance.

Going forward, for matinee performances, the lottery opens at 8 p.m. the previous day and closes at 9 a.m. the day of the performance.  For evening performances, the lottery opens at 8 a.m. the day of and closes at 2 p.m.
