Celine Dion plans to release a French album later this year, and an English-language album in 2017, but that’s not all she’s planning. She wants to extend her brand into all kinds of products, from makeup to housewares.
The Montreal Gazette reports that before Celine’s husband Rene Angelil passed away, he, Celine and her current manager, Aldo Giampaolo, were discussing the possibility of the singer launching her own line of cosmetics, boutiques, clothing lines, kitchenware and more. Those negotiations are now underway, reports the Gazette. Celine already has a signature line of perfumes.
As for whether or not Angelil’s death will lead to Celine radically changing her musical style, though, Giampaolo says he doubts it, even if that’s what Celine wants. “You can’t do radical things with an artist,” he tells he paper. “When you have an established artist, you have to be very careful. You can’t disappoint the fan base.”
“I don’t see it…[but] I will consider everything, and Céline will have a very big say in where she wants to go,” he adds. “She’s the artist. So it’s an exchange. I’m an open-minded person.”
“She’s a trouper,” notes Aldo. “She’s a Stanley Cup winner. She’s going to play the seventh game, and in the seventh game you’re going to get a lot out of her. She’s going to come to play.”
