If you’re a famous rock star, and one of your best friends is running for office, of course you’re going to host a fundraiser for the guy, right?
The New York Post reports that Billy Joel is having a few very well-heeled people over to his place on July 12 to raise money for the re-election campaign of his good buddy, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo. According to the Post, the event will take place at Billy’s Long Island estate, and tickets range from $5000 to $7500 per person.
For that price, you’ll get a dinner with “local food and beverages,” as well as a private concert by Billy. The more expensive ticket also gets you “priority seating.”
Billy and Cuomo are such good pals that the governor officiated at Billy’s wedding to his current wife, Alexis, in 2015. Billy also performed at a fundraiser for Cuomo in 2013, and the two have done a number of charity events together. Cuomo is facing a challenge in the Democratic primary from former Sex and the City actress Cynthia Nixon.
