Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine, who also serves as a coach on The Voice, dropped by The Tonight Show on Thursday and discussed a number of things with host Jimmy Fallon, including his pregnant wife’s strange cravings.
Levine tells Fallon that model Behati Prinsloo, 26, who is pregnant with the couple’s first child — a daughter — has one food in particular that she just can’t live without lately.
“She’s eating a lot of watermelon — a lot of watermelon,” says the 37-year-old singer. “You know, ’cause you get random cravings for stuff and there’s just like so much watermelon.”
“That’s not bad,” notes Fallon, explaining, “You’d think it would be like ice cream or all that stuff.”
“She eats that too,” replies Levine.
Some of the other subjects Adam and Jimmy discussed include his earliest musical influence: the 1980s metal band Motley Crüe.
“I was 10, Dr. Feelgood came out…and it was kind of an inappropriate record to like when you’re 10,” he recalls. “I had a karaoke machine…so I’d play the first side of Dr. Feelgood…and I had this really crappy drum set…and every day I came home from school…and play all of side one of Dr. Feelgood and just beat the crap out of the drums all day.”
Levine also talked about his fellow Voice coach Blake Shelton, who, like Adam has, “been on the show forever.”
When Fallon asked if the two might team up for a duet, Adam replied, “No,” before joking, “I don’t like him at all.”
The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
